Research & Ideation

My research compared metaphors, materials, and production methods to find ideas that were visually strong, scalable, and realistic within the timeline. These discoveries shaped both the poster and digital assets.

Concept

The theme Colour Us Graduated plays on the phrase “colour me surprised,” reflecting the range of emotion and individuality that defines the transition from student to designer. A felted-wool gradient forms the title treatment, symbolizing many unique creative identities blending into one collective celebration.

Visuals

Digital “marching-ants” outlines, cursor-arrow icons, and the full-spectrum gradient reference everyday design tools, express diversity, and pair craft with digital precision, while black-and-white elements keep the system adaptable and the type pairing of Gotham and Rafaella establishes structure, legibility, and a softer human presence.

Outcome

The final identity unites tactile craft with digital fluency, celebrating the class’s shared growth and distinct voices while presenting a cohesive, energetic image of emerging designers. Thanks to its clear concept and thoughtful execution across digital mediums, the identity was selected to represent the grad show.
